Nowadays technology has played a big part in our world and has not only made the world easier, but also makes it hard at times as well. With so many advances in technology happening from the I-Mac Pro, to the iPhone 8, who knows what else the future will hold. But not only are there new technologies coming out, but also new sites. Sites that can be used from all over the world with people from everywhere using it. Many sites have gotten new updates to make them more popular such as Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and even Facebook. But would that be a good or bad thing? Many people can agree there are some good things about social media, but there can also be bad outcomes as well. As she decided to go back home, a car came up on the side of her, and she was grabbed by a man, which was actual ly the boy she had been talking to, but made a fake profile to disguise himself. He drove her to his Virginia home, where Alicia was tied up with a dog collar, and raped. After four days have passed, she heard loud footsteps coming up to the room, which was actually the FBI who had seen a video the man posted of him raping her. Alicia was soon rushed home back to her family. When talking to someone online, it is important to know who is the person on the other side of the screen, so that no one has to go through what Alicia went through. Another reason why social media can be a dangerous place, is because of people’s comments. When someone posts something online, it will stay there for everyone to see, from all over. When posing something online, one must make sure it is the right decision to make, because it will be seen by everyone. Once something is posted on social media, there will be comments. Some may be good, but some may be bad. There are people on the internet who comment hateful comments on someone’s pictures, just to make that person feel bad about themselves.
